the ancestors

my father takes me to see the small "temple" that holds the ashes of his grandmother, and others, in taichung. i remember going to this monastery when i was little and being very afraid to climb the long spiral staircase that makes it to the top of this building. let's just say that even though i did climb those stairs this time around, my childhood fears seemed to come to life.
